FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Internet Technology Helps Kids Find the Ruby Princess
(OAKLAND, Calif.,
September 14, 2000) - Oakland-based Isys Idea Systems, Inc. joins
Blackboard Entertainment, Inc. to present "Find the Ruby Princess
Adventure Series Contest," an interactive web site launched on September
5th in conjunction with the VHS/DVD release of "The Ruby Princess
Runs Away," a fanciful musical based on the Jewel Kingdom book series
by Scholastic.
The web site
ruby.blackboardkids.com
unveils a new episode every week for a ten-week period, featuring
games that focus on comprehension, retention, and problem-solving
skills. After completing all ten episodes successfully, the player
will have ten clues that must be assembled in the correct order
to reveal where the Ruby princess is hiding. First, second, and
third-place prizes will be awarded to the first 100 players to log
on with the correct answer at the end of the series on Saturday,
November 4th.
"It has been
invigorating to design and develop a site for kids, especially one
based on such a fabulous story," says Sally Dew, Isys Art Director.
"Incorporating the storyline into the games, which are based on
characters and events in the film, gave us an opportunity to be
really creative."
Blackboard Entertainment
is very pleased with the results, as the web site is receiving positive
feedback from visitors. "Isys created an internet-based contest
that far surpassed our initial concept," says Regina Kelland, Blackboard
Entertainment's Director of Marketing. "Their execution was creative
and exciting and we are already getting emails from folks who are
playing the game and loving it."
Based on the
success of "The Ruby Princess Runs Away," Blackboard Entertainment
and Isys have discussed working together on similar projects in
the future, pending the release of additional films based on the
Jewel Kingdom series.
